Marc has lived and worked in and around the water for his entire life. Born in Staten Island, NY and raised in the seashore town of Scituate, MA, Marc’s passion for boating started in high school when he convinced his wood shop teacher to let him build a boat instead of a bread box. Marc became an early entrepreneur when he established a landscaping business to pay for his jet-ski racing. He began his career in the Scituate Harbormaster’s office, quickly rising to become the youngest ever Assistant Harbormaster and later launching a new boat launch service in Scituate Harbor. There, he gained valuable seamanship skills that he would utilize throughout his life. Eventually, Marc moved to Florida, working as a dock attendant at the prestigious Pier 66, graduating Sea School and earning his Captain’s license. While he did move back to Boston briefly to run larger boats and upgrade his CG license to 100T Master Near Coastal, Marc eventually returned to Florida. While accumulating seamanship experience, Marc worked at Boat U.S. in Fort Lauderdale, where he captained boats, performed salvage, and worked as a freelance captain delivering yachts up and down the eastern seaboard. Marc also experienced an Atlantic Crossing onboard a 139 ft Feadship as a staff captain. While project managing a refit on a 54 ft Striker, Marc sowed the seeds for launching MPI to provide South Florida with the ultimate one-stop-shop for Yacht Service.
Since 1997, MPI has grown to become the premier marine service company in South Florida that provides, Yacht Refit Management, Marine Electronics, Audio/Video & Networking, and Emergency and Crisis services. Marc also co-founded the marine security, monitoring, tracking and surveillance company Paradox Marine, now known as GOST. He also started and is partnered with his cousin in a boatyard, Scituate Boat Works, in his hometown of Scituate, MA back in 2008. In 2018, Marc started a distribution company to sell, and support Dockmate®, the world’s most advanced wireless remote control for your boat.
In his free time, Marc spends time with his wife Jennifer, sons Jackson and Jake, boating and flying. Marc volunteers with Challenge Air, an organization providing special needs children a chance to fly, with Freedom Fighters Outdoors to fly wounded war VETs to & from their destination, and with Pilot N Paws to fly pets all over the country to prevent euthanization. Marc holds a 100T Master Near Coastal Captain license and a Private Pilot License with an instrument rating which he uses to fly the company fully equipped Beechcraft Bonanza used regularly for Rapid Response Emergency Missions. Marc studied at Wentworth Institute and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Construction Management.
